These terms of use (hereinafter referred to as "These Terms") apply to all users (hereinafter referred to as "Users") of the website of "Marugoto" (hereinafter referred to as "This Site") provided by the Japan Foundation Japanese-Language Institute, Urawa (hereinafter referred to as “the Institute”). People who access and use This Site are deemed to agree with These Terms. The Institute has the right to change These Terms without advance notice.


  1. The copyrights (or intellectual property rights) for information carried on This Site, such as text, illustrations, pictures, audio, and images all belong to the Institute, unless otherwise stated.
  2. The information carried on This Site cannot be reprinted or reproduced wholly or in part for any purpose other than private use.


User registration is required for using some parts of This Site and the service provided after having agreed to These Terms and our Privacy Policy. E-mail address is needed for registration.

Any e-mail address that is registered already cannot be registered again.After registration, Users may cancel registration at any time. There is no registration or usage fee.

The Institute may contact Users via the e-mail address provided for responding to inquiries or carrying out questionnaires. The Institute will use the opinions and impressions of Users collected as a reference when managing This Site and to help in its continuous improvement.

When any of the following is found, the Institute can suspend use or delete registration without advance notice to the user:

  1. Provided false information in registered data;
  2. Fraudulent use of This Site;
  3. Violation of any article of These Terms.

  2. When a user damaged the Institute by violating the above prohibitions, the Institute has the right to ask the user for compensation.

  5. In the event of a dispute arising between Users of This Site or Users and a third party, the concerned parties are to reach a settlement autonomously.

Legal Standards and Court Jurisdiction

These terms and the privacy policy shall be subject to the laws of Japan. Any dispute between User and the Institute relating to the services provided on This Site or These Terms shall be submitted to the Saitama District Court.
